The Portfolio Project Features Mychelle Aberham

Mychelle Aberham entered the Aveda network in 2003, and 8 years later she still finds her- self living the Aveda mission and nurturing her talents. She started her career at Aveda working in a day spa as a Skin Care Service Provider for 4 ½ years. Following her passion for education she began working as an Estheology Educator at the Aveda Institute of Denver in 2003, three years later she is still growing and challenging herself within her field.

Mychelle embodies the Aveda mission of giving back to the natural environment; she received the Mission Champion Award in 2009 for her green efforts. Her natural talent and dedication to makeup artistry paid off in 2010 when her team was named the Edwin Neil Competition winners at the Aveda Institute of Denver. The winning image that shows off Mychelle’s makeup artistry is now enlarged, lit up and hanging in the Aveda Institutes of Denver and Minneapolis, where Aveda’s headquarters are located.

In May 2011 Mychelle was selected to represent the Aveda Network as a Aveda Freelance Makeup Artist! She is looking forward to sharing her creativity, enthusiasm and skills with the network and applying her skin care and makeup knowledge with a variety of clients.

The Portfolio Project Features Tonya Strozier

Tonya Strozier is a cutting edge professional makeup artist based in Arizona. Since the beginning of 2010, Tonya’s progress as a true artist has been explosive. Her commitment to perfecting her craft continues to amaze even the seasoned makeup artists.

Holding a Master’s degree in Education since 2003, Tonya naturally values education. Her passion for education has undoubtedly transferred to the fashion industry.

As an AVEDA trained makeup artist Tonya has a solid foundation in color theory. Tonya’s flair for color is vibrantly demonstrated through her editorial makeup. Though profound with the use of color, Tonya is also able to enhance the natural beauty of the individual as evident in her bridal and beauty makeup artistry. Being the teacher that she is, she enjoys educating others about makeup, general skin care, and total health.

Whether working on a production set, studio, on location, or behind stage of a fashion show Tonya’s makeup artistry work is remarkable.

The Portfolio Project Features Heather Vasquez

Heather Renee’ Vasquez first realized her passion for makeup as a young girl when she explored her Mother’s makeup bag. She later discovered her raw talent when she studied makeup in fashion magazines and was able to easily recreate the makeup techniques.

In 2003, after receiving two degrees at Appalachian State University in International Business and Spanish, Heather Renee’ was offered an opportunity to start her career in the beauty industry at Modern Salon & Spa, an Aveda Lifestyle Salon & Spa located in Charlotte North Carolina. Eight years later, utilizing both her talents for makeup and her business education, Heather Renee’ is still thriving with Modern Salon and Spa.

As the Human Resources Director of a Salon Today Top 200 Salon and Spa, Heather Renee’ has a unique blend of knowledge of the business and creative sides of the beauty industry. With a keen eye for beauty makeup and acute organizational skills, she has become a sought after Bridal Makeup Artist in the Carolinas and Georgia. Having grown her makeup business from referrals, Heather Renee’ is now known as the Makeup Artist that serves unspoken wishes on your wedding day.

In 2010 Heather Rene’s talent and experiences earned her the Charlotte’s Top 30 Under 30 Future Leaders of Charlotte Award in. In 2010 and 2011 she has taken her makeup education to the next level by traveling to Denver, Colorado for advanced training.

Heather Renee’ specializes in beauty and bridal makeup and will travel upon request.

The Portfolio Project Features Erin Grundemann

Erin Grundemann is a makeup artist whom is actively growing with the Denver Fashion Industry since 2008. Her work consists of bridal, fashion, editorial and avant-garde.Her work has been featured in 303 Magazine, Her Life magazine, and Fashion Model magazine.

In 2000 Erin started her career at Aveda, 11 years later she continues educating herself on Aveda products, style and mission with a strong focus on makeup artistry. Constantly experimenting and innovating, if Erin is not completing courses, on set, or working a fashion show she is studying the marketplace to stay up-to-date on the latest trends & techniques.

In 2008 Erin joined the first Aveda Freelance Artist Team and that is where she met her mentor Rudy Miles. Shortly thereafter she enrolled in the Denver Academy Makeup instructed by Rudy. In these courses she discovered her love and passion for makeup and ignited her career.

In 2009 Erin decided she wanted to take her work to the next level and enrolled in, and graduated from, the cosmetology program at the Aveda Institute of Denver.

In 2010 she received her cosmetologist license and is now able to offer her dual talents to brides, salons, as well as on set working with models, photographers and editorial clients.
